What is Fantasy Football all About?
Obviously we can not all be professional managers and owners nor
would we really want to trade places with the actual managers and
owners if we could. But could you do a better job as General Manager if
you had the chance? League Star gives you that chance. We hand you 100
Million Pounds to buy and manage the Premier League players that you
know could make a winning team. As a Manager and Team Owner you select
the players, determine who plays each week, trade out the ones that are
not cutting it and take home a wad of real cash when your team does
well. For the devoted football fan there is no greater rush than seeing
one of your players score a goal in a Premier League game. If your
mates are constantly telling you what they would do if they were the
Arsenal or Real Madrid Manager, challenge them get on the pitch with
their own team. Either let us put you in an existing league or hook up
eleven of your best Footie Fanatics and form your own League. League
Star will handle rules enforcement, score keeping, trades and
transfers, administration and cash award payouts for your league.
Who Plays Fantasy Football?
Fantasy Football is hugely popular and growing at an amazing rate.
This year millions of aspiring managers will take to the field with
their Fantasy Teams. A fair number of these who register their teams
with League Star will win serious cash awards for their efforts. All of
them will be guaranteed a far more exciting and fun-packed Football
season. There is nothing like watching Manchester United, for example,
play Arsenal knowing that you have players on both teams and when any
of these players score or make an assist your Fantasy Team gets the
credit. Games suddenly become a lot more exciting when you have a
Fantasy Team in the action.
Who Wins?
First of all and most important to you; League Star awards more cash
to more of our Managers than any other major competing game. It is
that simple. You will win a cash prize if your team places in the
top 6 out of the 12 teams in your League. As a League Star Manager
and Team Owner you only compete against the other 11 teams in your
League. This is a huge advantage to you. With our biggest
competitors your team must compete against all of the teams in all
of the other leagues on the site as well. League Star pays out more
of our member fees in cash prizes than any other major Fantasy
Football administrator. Click on our Cash Awards Page to see what
you win. We have one mission; to give you the very best Fantasy
Football experience possible, and that includes the biggest Awards
paid to more of our Managers. Our cash prizes are larger than the
other Fantasy Football games; and we pay cash awards to more of our
Managers than our competition.
Is my Credit Card Information Secure?
Your data is extremely secure. League Star uses Paypal to process
all credit card payments. Your credit card information never transits
or resides on our systems. Your data is handled by the most secure
billing process in existence. Payments made via this system are far
more secure than credit card transactions done in shops and
restaurants. No Paypal accounts have ever been compromised. All data is
sent over secure encrypted channels and maintained by Paypal on their
off-line secure servers only. Both League Star and Paypal guarantee the
security of your personal data and billing information. In spite of
this, if you would rather pay by check or electronic transfer League
Star will happily accommodate you. Please send us an email and we will
advise of the procedures for making such payments. Click Here for more
information.
How do I get Paid?
You have the option of having your winnings credited to your credit
card, sent to you via bank cheque, or electronically transferred to
your bank account. If you select electronic funds transfer any bank
fees involved in such a transaction shall be for your account. You may
also leave your winnings on deposit in our interest-bearing account to
be applied to the next game. All winnings are strictly
confidential and all League Star Managers must agree to accept full
responsibility for payment of any and all taxes due on such winnings.
We do not withhold taxes for you nor do we recognise any third-party claims
against your winnings.
Great, How do I Get Started?
1. Name Your Team: Your first decision as a Manager is to name your
Team. Any name is acceptable as long as it is not obscene, racist or
brings dishonor to the sport. This is your first opportunity to show
the other team Managers how clever you are. Put your sense of humor to
work or get pick a name that throws down a bold challenge. The League
Star League Blog is one of our unique features that you can check out
from time to time to get a feel for what other Managers are up to and,
if you like, post your own thoughts and opinions.
2. Put Your Team into a League or Create your Own League: All teams
compete in 12 team leagues. Every manager competes against, and only
against, the other eleven Managers in his League. You can put a League
together yourself from friends, office mates, or family members or we
will complete your League for you. You can join the Platinum League,
Gold League or Silver League and you can compete for one month or the
entire season.
3. Select Your Players and Manage your
Squad: You have a 100 Million Pounds at your disposal now to buy
players. Every Manager gets to choose 15 players. Spend it wisely
and create a winning team. Player costs are determined by a
mathematical algorithm which takes into consideration the player's
past game performance and present value relative to all other
Premier League players. This method insures that everyone starts on
a level playing field and no one has an unfair advantage over any
other Manager. Every Owner-Manager will have the same opportunity to
buy any Premier League player. How you spend your money will
determine, to a large extent, how you fare against your fellow
League Managers. The League Star Team Builder makes player selection
easy, quick and actually fun. You can take as long as you like to
put your team together, try different combinations of players and
get expert advice if you like. Talk over your picks with friends or
keep them to yourself. This is where your experience, judgment and
intuition come in. Your skill in selecting and managing your players
will determine, more than anything else, how much you earn from your
team. During the season if one or more of your players is not
playing to his potential you can and trade him for a player that
better balances your Team strengths and
weaknesses.
Games
League Star allows you to play on a Monthly or Season
basis. If you chose the Full Season League games are played on a
weekly basis - each week your team will compete against another team
from your league. The team that scores the most points from their
players' performance that week wins the game. Points are earned
whenever one of your players is credited with one or more of the
scoring actions described in the Rules section. Your opponents vary
by week and you will not play the same team twice consecutively.
Over a period of 11 weeks you will play every team in your League.
This also allows you to go head to head with your mates if they have
chosen to join you in a League. This process of playing different
teams each week continues throughout the league's regular season. To
prepare for a game, you'll need to set your lineup for that week
before the first Premier League game is played. One of the keys to
winning in Fantasy Football is preparation. When setting your
line-up, be aware of which players on your team have favorable and
unfavorable match ups. If you chose the Monthly League option your
team's score will be the total of all points earned by your players in
Premier League games during the month of play. Season winners will be
determined based upon their player's cumulative score over the entire
season.
Trading Up
One of the most fun and exciting parts of Fantasy
Football is trading. Trading players gives you the ability to
constantly improve and refine your squad. It is also incredibly
exciting. The concept of trading players in Fantasy Football is the
same as it is in the Premier League. The idea is to trade players
from positions where your team is strongest to improve positions
where you need a bit more power. For example, it does you no good to
have two great players playing the same position if one of them sits
out each week. You can better realize your team's potential if you trade one of these players for a player that
adds strength where you need it. The same rule applies to multi-player
trades. The point of the game is to succeed on the field not to profit
on player trades. You may transfer any number of your players out and
replace them with any player in the same position from a list of all
Premier League players. The first trade or transfer each week is free.
After the first trade or transfer you incur a penalty of 4 points for
each trade or transfer.
Multi-player trades
Managers may trade more than one player for a single player or unlike number
of players. If such a trade results in a Team with more than the
legal number of players or a team that is illegal in makeup, such as
one with no goalie, the manager of this team must correct such
illegal team makeup before the deadline for the next game period by
completing additional trades to bring his team back into balance. If
an illegal team makeup is not corrected by the deadline for entering
the team into the next week's game this team will not be allowed to compete
and will receive zero points. Be sure to give yourself enough time
between all trades and the next game deadline to allow for challenges
to your trade. The onus is on the Manager to maintain a legal and
eligible team to prevent loss of points due to an unbalanced or
otherwise illegal team.
